Using Greens As Means To Lose Weight
Posted in Finance on October 29th, 2011 by GianYou can lose weight in many ways and one of the ways others do it is through eliminating carbohydrates in the diet. There is an increasing trend in adding wheat grass juice and green smoothie in the diet and green solutions have becomee the solution to losing weight. Since greens provide fiber, very low calories and a great set of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, they are the perfect choice for diets among those that want to lose weight.
A green smoothie can be a great choice. It usually has blended vegetables. The usual vegetables that include it are spinach, cucumbers, celery stalks, parsley and kale. This drink gives you chlorophyll (increases the oxygen flow in all the body parts), nutrients, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants that are essentials in losing weight. A salad can also be a good choice but make it a large one. Make it using a variety of greens of the same kinds as you used in your smoothies. You can even add carrots, tomatoes and Brussel sprouts. Dark leaf lettuce or kale are better to use that iceberg lettuce and lastly, don’t add any croutons or dressing.
You can also blend your own kind of smoothie. Everyone of us have different taste and those that are already made might not be your first choice. Adding spices like ginger and pepper can be good. If you dislike the taste that much, a fruit can be added to improve it. It would still need to take some getting used to with the taste before you can make it a daily habit and the more you consume, the more your body and taste buds would get used to it as well. Lastly, you can try cooking a green vegetable soup through adding your favorite vegetables to a boiling pot of water. Some options you can try are cucumbers, arugula, chick peas, carrots, brocoli, spinach, kale and others that you like. Adding in spices like ginger pepper and salt can add to the flavor. Try out using greens to lose weight. You might just find the diet that works for you.
